Supplies

Here’s what you will need…

All of the supplies listed below will be used, but there’s no need to rush out and buy everything at once. I encourage you to start with what you already have—it takes time to discover your perfect supply stash! The materials I’ve listed are simply my own personal favs, lovingly collected and curated over many years. Use this list as a guide, not a rule, and let your collection grow naturally as you do.

Sketchbook (you can find these at Hobby Lobby or any art supply store) and sketching paper (copy paper works just fine).

Pencils(I use an “H” pencil)

Pens - White Posca and Micron

Erasers- pink pearl and kneaded

Watercolor Brushes in sizes 01, 06, 10 round (I use Black Swan and Princeton Heritage)

Watercolor Paper (140lb cold press)

Watercolor Paints (professional grade paints are expensive so if you need to purchase paints I suggest Grumbacher or Cotman by Windsor Newton. Both of these brands are student grade but perform very well for what we will be creating.

Watercolor Palette (a simple white plate from the dollar store will work just fine)

Water container

Spray Bottle

Salt (I use Kosher salt but any table salt will do)

Straight Edge (metal ruler)

Xacto Knife

Graphite Paper

Paper Towels

Apron if you are a messy artist!
